Windex. (And other intriguing things..)

It's interesting to look at everyday, household objects, and think (really think) about them. Where did they come from? Who looked at that particular thing and decided to eat it. For instance: Who first looked at an onion, chopped it up and said, "Gee! This thing tastes horrible! I think I'll put it in my sandwich!".

I was wondering these things about Windex. So, I looked it up.

Now, I have to admit that this has nothing to do with my encyclopedia goal. I am not in W yet.

But I thought I'd share what I learned with you..

Windex has been manufactured since 1933, when Erich Drafahl invented it. It contains Detergents, Ammonia, and fragrances to mask the odor of the ammonia. It remains the most popular glass and household cleaner on the market. Because of its flammability and high solvency it used to be sold in metal cans. It has been modified somewhat since then.

So. Now you know all about windex and you can go off and impress your friends. I will have some A stuff ASAP.
